The Child and Family Development pediatric therapy team is always stretching to learn more!
This week, Elizabeth Fagg, Speech Therapist, attended the LAMP training course in Charlotte. LAMP stands for Language Acquisition through Motor Planning. According to their website, www.aacandautism.com, it is a therapeutic approach based on neurological and motor learning principles. The goal is to give individuals who are nonverbal or have limited verbal abilities a method of independently and spontaneously expressing themselves in any setting. This approach is often used with people with autism.
Elizabeth enjoys helping her clients find the right augmentative communication device and learning how to use it.
